Welcome to the first Minnesota regional edition of Performance Magazine! Free Article
May 2nd, 2009 | Categories: Publisher's BlogWhen traditional media companies such as The New York Times and Chicago Tribune have been brought to their knees by declining subscriptions and plummeting ad revenue, you would be excused for questioning whether now would be the best time to launch a new magazine.
I believe, however, there could not be a better time to bring this unique, timeless publication to the North Star State. An economic downturn offers some people an opportunity to take some time off, maybe go back to school. Upgrade their “mental software,” if you will. For many of us, however, the luxury of “going back to school” is not something we could possibly cram into our overloaded lives. We understand the value of education, and strive to be lifelong learners, but we only have a few minutes between phone calls and meetings to read the latest self-help best-seller.
This is the reason Performance Magazine is more important now than ever before. No other publication in America today features highly successful, influential people, whose lives and achievements we recognize, sharing their own personal secrets to success, in 500 words or less!
We only publish HOW-TO oriented content, designed to give you the tools, tips, and tricks you need to elevate your own personal performance and the performance of your team. Unlike other publications, we do not publish trendy editorials, opinions (political, religious, or otherwise), or features on people.
While Minnesota may be best known for 10,000 lakes, mosquitoes the size of eagles, and perhaps even the Twins and Vikings, some of the most prominent national and international leaders alive today call Minnesota home. These achievers include: Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak; Dr. MaryAnn Baenninger, President of the College of Saint Benedict, the highest ranked Catholic liberal arts college for women in the United States; and David Kutoff, CEO of Materials Processing Corporation, the country’s leading refurbished electronics recycling specialist.
A friend of mine recently described Performance Magazine as the “American Express Black Card” of the magazine world. One of those items that we all know about, but only the privileged few can actually say they have. You have been gifted with an all-access pass into the daily lives of a few of America’s best known leaders.
